In Essex alone, around 22,500 children and young people need specialist help for mental health issues , with many more on list for critical support.
Underdog Crew Studios provides a safe and nurturing creative space for marginalised and at-risk young adults to find inspiration, motivation and a place to belong. Providing creative education, support, guidance and a route towards an empowered adulthood, laden with ambition and hope.
Our mission is simple: to EMPOWER, SUPPORT, NURTURE and CHANGE LIVES! If you would like to know who we truly are and meet some of our crew, this short video will give you all you need to know.

Forest of Fools

Funded by the 'ECC Arts and Cultural fund' as part of our #underdogcrew educational filmmaking workshops, 'Fools Gold' is our Summer 2022 headline project. Chosen to be showcased at the UK premiere of DB Morgan's Morris Men movie on 29th October at Clacton-on-Sea's historic Princes Theatre, this production is a collaboration between graduate UC members and the class of '22.

Sponsored by Meatline butchers and featuring actor, Jamie Chambers (Star Wars/Fury/Morris Men), we took a trip to the Inclusion Ventures centre in Jaywick, Essex, to educate and inspire young adults in the art of cooking exciting and healthy food at home. Throughout the day we taught the group how to make 'street food dirty burgers', how to create amazing dishes from the humble chicken thigh, and even got them to try AND ENJOY liver!

Thanks to a £10,000 grant from The National Lottery Community Fund, Underdog Crew Studios now has a dedicated mini bus to support our community. This vital addition ensures that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, can access our creative space. By providing transport for those who may face barriers in reaching the studio, we are making our projects more inclusive and accessible.
