ABOUT DB MORGAN

D.B. Morgan – A Warrior for the Misunderstood

Project Director | Anti-Bullying Ambassador | Neurodiversity Advocate

Multi- Award-Winning Filmmaker & Social Innovator

D.B. Morgan is a filmmaker, educator, and social entrepreneur whose life story is a defiant testament to the power of transformation - proof that trauma, when met with purpose, can become a force for good. A survivor of sustained abuse and long-term PTSD, D.B. endured several years of torment while attending one of England’s most notorious boarding schools - Elmbridge - during the 1980s. Later recognised as one of the “Lost Boys” in the high-profile historic abuse cases, he was awarded compensation - a bittersweet acknowledgment of systemic failure. But instead of letting the past define him, he rebuilt himself through empathy. That funding became seed capital for a vision: to create what he had needed most at sixteen - a place where the misunderstood, neurodiverse, and marginalised could rediscover belonging.

That vision became The Underdog Crew CIC - a multi-award-winning social enterprise that uses professional filmmaking as a catalyst for emotional healing, education, and empowerment. Through its groundbreaking SENtrepreneur Programme, D.B. mentors at-risk and neurodiverse young adults, turning creativity into therapy, skill, and social impact.

As a specialist neurodiversity educator and Anti-Bullying Ambassador, he fights daily to dismantle stigma and rebuild opportunity for those failed by traditional systems. His work blends compassion, storytelling, and structured creativity - empowering young people to transform their lived experiences into art that demands to be heard.

Beyond education, D.B. is an internationally acclaimed filmmaker, with almost 30 awards from film festivals around the world. His work has been recognised for its raw humanity and emotional intelligence - films that challenge audiences to see the world through empathy, not judgement.

Spotlight – The Slip

Among his most celebrated achievements is The Slip - an original, ongoing teen- drama series created by Underdog Crew Studios and written and directed by D.B.

With continuation funding from Anglian Community Trust, the series delivers a bold, unflinching portrayal of what it means to come of age in modern Britain. Told through the eyes of a young carer, The Slip exposes the quiet heroism and invisible struggles of youth forced to grow up too soon. It is at once raw and compassionate - a mirror held to society’s blind spots and a call to see, hear, and value the next generation. Visually striking and emotionally fearless, the series shines a light on those too often left in the shadows, challEnging audiences to replace judgement with understanding.

During his earlier years working as a chef in elderly-care homes, D.B. witnessed another neglected population - the elderly. He saw loneliness, systemic neglect, and a generation fading in silence. That experience became the emotional blueprint for empathAITM - technology built not for profit, but for compassion.

empathAITM is the culmination of his life’s journey - a fusion of conscience, creativity, and technology designed to restore connection where society has withdrawn it. Today, D.B. Morgan stands as a warrior for the misunderstood - a man who transformed pain into purpose and silence into a movement. His mission is unwavering: to build the world he needed as a child - where difference is celebrated, empathy is engineered, and compassion is the new measure of progress.

“I’m not here to be perfect. I’m here to prove that broken things can build beautiful futures.”

Mission Statement

To build the world that sixteen-year-old me needed – where creativity heals, compassion leads, and the misunderstood finally find their place in the story.
