'db' Morgan has a unique voice - to his screenwriting and Directorial style. Although a long time coming due to family tragedy, his debut movie Faith, budgeted at less than £10,000, took the international festival circuit by storm - gathering over 30 awards and accolades.

 

DB writes from the heart, creating compelling stories about the human condition and pitting the everyman against the world. We engage with these characters because they are us! Fighting against the tide just to get ahead in life. The primitive fight for survival in an unfamiliar world.

Survival movies fall into several categories: The Hollywood blockbuster, where Will Smith or The Rock must save the planet from impending doom. Huge, spectacular set pieces in a rollercoaster of action, a tub-thumping God bless America tribute to the greatest country on earth. Then you have world cinema entries like the fantastic, South Korean, 'Train To Busan' series, where the zombie apocalypse is nigh. With a darker, more cynical, edge these films are epic. 28-days Later, The Road, Book of Eli, I Am Legend... yet more fantastic big budget blockbusters that are as relevant and popular today as when the cinema doors first opened.

Then there's another kind of movie. The low budget independent survival movie. Set in a smaller world, usually focusing on one or two individuals or a family. Aliens, zombies, invading forces, acts of terrorism or natural disasters: a huge, and diverse, sub genre of personal survival stories. 

​

When done well you are forced to experience the horror alongside them. Cowering with them at every new downward turn and rejoicing in their small victories amidst the bleakness of their existence.

DB Morgan's 'Prepper: Deep Cover' will encompass the desperation and helplessness of a family trapped in the impending chaos of a devastating terrorist attack on Britain's power infrastructure....  and then invading forces. From a late night dash to the forest and then the unravelling story from their bolt hole, told through several initial interactions with fellow 'humanity' they meet along the way.  A family divided by the pressures of the modern world, united by a fresh simplicity of survival, they come together like never before to survive just long enough for the powers-that-be to regain control.

From a misjudged trading attempt with the lakeside gang - a particularly hardcore group who control the water supply -  to several perilous trips into the fringes of town for supplies, every turn leads our heroes towards new dangers as the hours tick by and society falls into chaos.
